Our Commitment to Privacy

ScanTotal is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect, store, or share your personal information.

What We Don't Collect

• Files: We never store your uploaded files. They are analyzed in memory and immediately discarded.
• Personal Information: We don't require accounts, emails, or any identifying information.
• IP Addresses: We do not log or store IP addresses.
• Tracking: We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes.

What We Do Collect

• Anonymous Analytics: We count total page visits and scans to understand usage. No personal data is included.
• File Hashes: When scanning files, we compute a hash (fingerprint) of the file content to check against threat databases. The hash cannot be used to reconstruct your file.

Third-Party Services

We use the following free threat intelligence services to check for malware:

• MalwareBazaar (abuse.ch) - File hash lookups
• URLhaus (abuse.ch) - URL threat checking
• ThreatFox (abuse.ch) - Threat intelligence

Only hashes or URLs are sent to these services, never your actual files.
